Medical documents in Kazakhstan are being transferred to digital format

A new format for storing and using medical data is being actively introduced in Kazakhstan. Health books, sick leaves, certificates from medical commissions, children's health passports and even documents for permission to own a weapon will soon be available in electronic form. Moreover, it is planned to transfer consents or refusals to vaccination to the digital environment.
According to the Ministry of Health, this step is aimed at simplifying access to medical documents and accelerating all related processes. Thanks to the new system, one document can be used simultaneously in several organizations, which will significantly save time and money for both citizens and government agencies.
An important emphasis is placed on the protection of personal data. The transfer of documents to third parties will be possible only with the approval of citizens through eGov Mobile - a platform that has already proven itself in other areas of digitalization.
At the moment, specialists are integrating various information systems to ensure their smooth operation. According to the Ministry of Health, all stages of transferring documents to an online format are accompanied by strict control and testing to ensure the reliability and security of the data.
Interestingly, the digitalization of such documents is not only a step towards convenience, but also towards environmental friendliness: less paper, less printing, more saved resources. The introduction of these technologies is especially relevant in the context of the global transition to electronic document management.
For users, this means that they will no longer have to run around offices looking for the necessary certificate or worry about lost paper documents. All the necessary data will be just one click away - on a phone or computer.
Such a transformation will not only be convenient for citizens, but also a serious contribution to the development of the country's digital infrastructure. According to statistics, more than 30 million digital services were already provided through eGov in 2023, and this number continues to grow. The new stage of digitalization related to medical documents promises to further increase this figure, making the lives of citizens easier and more comfortable.
